About the App
- Lync can save conversations automatically, never save conversations, or ask whether to save each conversation. Sign in to Lync. On the Lync menu, click Preferences, and then click History. Select the options that you want.

- You may be able to avoid uninstalling Lync for Mac 2011 if you create a new profile on the Mac. If you contact Microsoft technical support, you may be asked to create the new profile as a troubleshooting step. If the issue is resolved by creating the new profile, it will be determined that the issue was caused by a corrupted profile.
- Unlike other Mac applications, you cannot add custom emoticons or emoticons from other applications to Lync for Mac. For a list of more emoticons that you can use in Lync for Mac, see the article Keyboard shortcuts for emoticons. To turn off emoticons, on the Lync menu, click Preferences Appearance.

Install the App
- Press
Command+Space
and type Terminal and press enter/return key. - Run in Terminal app:
ruby -e '$(curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Homebrew/install/master/install)' < /dev/null 2> /dev/null ; brew install caskroom/cask/brew-cask 2> /dev/null
and press enter/return key.
If the screen prompts you to enter a password, please enter your Mac's user password to continue. When you type the password, it won't be displayed on screen, but the system would accept it. So just type your password and press ENTER/RETURN key. Then wait for the command to finish. - Run:
brew cask install microsoft-lync-plugin
Done! You can now use Microsoft Lync Web App Plug-in.
